Only 4% of employers currently offer staff access to a workplace ISA and 82% say they are not knowledgeable about how such ISAs operate, according to recent research from benefits provider Unum. The company is joining up with Aon and SmarterInvestment to make workplace ISAs more available through existing flexible benefit platforms, including for Aon Plus voluntary benefits clients.
Peter O’Donnell, Unum UK CEO, said:
‘With financial wellbeing rising up the corporate agenda, the ability to provide employees with vehicles to save or invest money through their workplace is becoming increasingly important.’
Ben Pollard, actuary and founder of SmarterInvestment, said:
‘Our partnership with Aon reflects the growing need for easily accessible and simple saving solutions. New research by Unum has revealed that almost half of employees feel that investments and savings are complicated and that 52% would consider managing their savings and investments more if it were simpler.’
