US salary budgets stall at 3% – WorldatWork

Average budgets for total salary increases in 2016 in the US have stalled at 3%, the same level as recorded for the past two years, according to data from WorldatWork. Respondents are planning for a slight increase in budgets for 2017 but only up to 3.1%. The proportion of organisations using variable pay increased marginally to 84% in 2016.

Kerry Chou, Senior Practice Leader at the organisation, said:

‘The demand for larger salary increases just isn’t there and low unemployment has not been enough to motivate organisations to increase salary budgets.’
