A new study by Incomes Data Services examines the range of options available to organisations seeking to address recruitment and retention difficulties in London and other high-cost locations.

The various options include paying free-standing location allowances, operating regional pay systems and using the inherent flexibility within many grading structures. But this has made it increasingly difficult to pinpoint the value of a London “premium”, says IDS.
