Survey of location payments 2004

Most employers continue to uprate traditional inner and outer London weighting payments, while pay zones that reflect regional differences are more popular in the retail sector, finds a survey by IRS.

Inner London allowances vary in value from £1,312.50 a year paid to staff at Remploy's five London sites, to £4,302 at the Yorkshire Building Society.

This five-page article examines location pay arrangements in 43 named organisations, with a table setting out example payments for 49 bargaining groups.
