Pay and conditions for accountancy staff in law firms, and particularly the likelihood that they receive a pay rise, vary markedly between large and small practices, according to the annual salary survey from the Institute of Legal Finance and Management in conjunction with Balance Recruitment. Just over three-quarters of finance employees in medium to large law firms received a pay rise last year compared with only 59% in smaller firms. However, small firms appear to have a better staff retention rate, 89% compared with 81% in larger firms.
Balance Recruitment’s Richard Hooper comments:
‘Legal finance professionals are such a vital component of every law firm – without them, properties couldn’t be bought and sold, and compensation wouldn’t be paid, just to name a few important financial transactions.’
