Organisations are broadening their parental leave policies in order to better align them with the changing needs of the workforce, according to a survey from Mercer. More than a quarter provide adoption leave beyond what is required by law and 87% handle requests for adoption leave for same-sex couples in the same way as for opposite-sex couples.
Ilya Bonic, Senior Partner and President of Mercer’s talent business, said:
‘Adoption leave, like other leave, helps employers accommodate more diverse family structures, which are now commonplace among their employee population.’
