Nine in ten HR professionals expect pay rise in 2016 – Robert Walters

As many as 90% of HR professionals expect to receive a pay rise in 2016 and 63% a bonus, according to research from Robert Walters recruitment consultant. HR professionals are aware of the growing demand for their skills and this is leading many to seek new opportunities, particularly at junior levels – 43% are actively looking for a new job and 53% of those quizzed by the survey say career progression is the main motivation for their job search.

The research also reveals that HR professionals are optimistic about their prospects, whether they change jobs or not. However, pay is not the main reason HR professionals consider changing jobs: only 13% report that they would be most likely to change jobs in order to secure a pay rise.

Charlotte Matthew, manager for HR recruitment at Robert Walters, said:

‘Employers must address the priorities of these professionals in areas such as salary, work-life balance and, in particular, career progression, if they wish to remain competitive in a market where candidates are in high demand.’
