New survey of salaries for reward specialists
For the first time, IDS Management Pay Review takes a look at the recruitment market for compensation and benefits specialists. After contacting recruitment consultants and examining over 100 job advertisements, IDS concludes that "activity in the market is buoyant, particularly at senior levels".
At the higher end of the salary scale, opportunities are outstripping supply while at the lower end of the scale, demand and supply are at similar levels, with plenty of good jobs available for candidates with the most sought-after qualities.
Over the next 12 months, demand is expected to continue on an upward trend.

A final word
"Top compensation and benefits specialists are in demand and this is being reflected in the salaries they can command, say recruitment consultants working in the field. Against a background of an uncertain economy, redundancies, mergers and acquisitions, compensation and benefits specialists are playing a crucial role in the internal reshaping of organisations." -- IDS Management Pay Review 274, December 2003.
