New report on reward trends in Europe

Unprecedented economic changes will have a profound effect on compensation and talent management in Europe, according to a new report by Hewitt Associates.

Hewitt’s "Managing Compensation in Europe", now in its second edition, is a practical reference guide for managing compensation and employee benefit packages across multiple countries in Europe. The report:

  • analyses compensation by employee level across 18 individual markets

  • highlights reward levels and compensation mix

  • offers insights into the prevalence of different types of employee benefits and perquisites, including long-term incentives

  • provides expert commentary and analysis from Hewitt consultants.

The information included in the report is drawn from Hewitt's Total Compensation Measurement (TCM), a global compensation database, as well as additional research.

A final word

"In a recovering economy, employers in Europe have had to adapt and review company pay and benefit packages to ensure they are suitably aligned with not just individual performance but the wider economic conditions affecting companies. Growth across the EU is still slow compared to previous years. However, the speed of recovery is varying significantly from country to country and we expect it will continue to have an impact on compensation packages and employee benefits for some time to come." - Andrew Macleod, senior reward consultant at Hewitt Associates.
