New online source for cost-of-living comparisons

Remuneration managers responsible for designing expatriate reward packages can now access a new online guide to cost-of-living comparisons at FTCareerPoint.

The data is drawn from Inbucon's twice-yearly Worldwide Living Costs Survey. According to the latest figures, Tokyo is the world's most expensive city, followed by Washington DC.

Title: Worldwide Living Costs Survey, Inbucon.

Methodology: The index, set against a base of 100 for London, is calculated from six international cost-of-living indices and is based on the consumption needs of a married couple with two schoolchildren. The figures are based on the sterling exchange rate on 28 July 2001.
