New national minimum wage rates

New national minimum wage rates came into force from 1 October 2016 as follows:

• £7.20 per hour (25 years old and over entitled to national living wage)
• £6.95 per hours (21-24 year olds)
• £5.55 per hour (18-20 year olds)
• £4 per hour (16-17 year olds)
• £3.40 per hour (apprentices under 19, or 19 and over in the first year of an apprenticeship).
