Reward professionals have never been under more pressure to demonstrate the effectiveness of their pay and reward arrangements and the impact of any changes to them. Recessionary pressures continue to intensify, yet there are still manifestations of key skill shortages, while increasing attention is being placed on “evidence-based management” and “management by analytics” ideas.

E-reward is therefore undertaking a large-scale research project on reward effectiveness and our partners for this work, Institute for Employment Studies (IES), is also doing an increasing amount of research and project work in this area. Our joint research project involves this survey of practice and experiences, which is being distributed to 5,000 organisations in the UK and covering all sectors. We will be supplementing this with some in-depth case studies.
