REWARD MANAGEMENT

New CIPD certificate in reward management

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has launched a new certificate in reward management.

HR, personnel and reward managers who aspire to develop their career to the highest level will soon be able to benefit from the new advanced level qualification to update their skills, learn about the latest developments in the field of reward and make a real impact on the performance of their organisation.

Charles Cotton, CIPD reward adviser, says: "Reward is becoming the 'must have' for those with ambitions to rise to the top of the profession. It is at the centre of many of the issues facing organisations, such as linking executive remuneration to organisational performance, providing affordable retirement programmes and rewarding employee contribution in a non-discriminatory way''.

Advanced Certificate in Reward Management

The CIPD says it is launching the new Advanced Certificate in Reward Management in "recognition of the increasingly specialised nature of reward within the wider discipline of human resources management". It has been developed for professionals working in all sectors including private, public and not-for-profit.

The certificate is part of the CIPD professional development scheme at postgraduate level.

An open evening for prospective students will be held on 17 November 2004. It will provide the opportunity to meet tutors and programme managers and an overview of certificate modules and resources, including:

  • base and variable pay
  • benefits, pensions and share schemes
  • reward in context
  • CIPD reward at work resources and faculty.
