Mercer launches new benefits platform

Consultant Mercer has launched a digital platform designed to enable employees and employers to address a range of issues associated with high performance working, including engagement, productivity, benefits, and pensions. Mercer Harmonise should also help employers cut the cost of administering benefits by allowing employees to manage health, workplace benefits and general financial affairs in one place.

It is accessible on smartphones, tablets and desktops and employees can set financial goals, adjust savings, compare themselves to their peer group and select flexible benefits. The new platform offers a range of products and benefits, including:

  • financial education and guidance
  • retirement savings products (including consolidation and drawdown)
  • flexible benefits, health products (including a health risk assessment tool)
  • a ‘digital filing cabinet’ for an employee to store their own financial information.

Niall O’Callaghan, a partner at Mercer who led the development of the new platform, said:

‘Harmonise is designed to help employees understand where they are financially and where they want to be through an intuitive, dynamic and customised interface . . . For employers, it helps improve their benefits and rewards strategy by driving improved engagement, increased productivity and reduced benefit administration costs.’
