Making a success of corporate marriages

Corporate marriages can be colossal trouble. Three case studies published in the latest issue of the US human resources magazine Workforce show what merging companies did to make their disparate cultures mesh.

All too many mergers fail to produce the intended business results. Why? Because companies don't spend enough time evaluating the impact that mergers have on employees, according to one of the experts interviewed by Workforce. What’ s more, the chances for success are further hampered if the corporate cultures of the companies are very different.

The February 2003 issue of Workforce looks at how Michael Foods, Constellation Brands and Church & Dwight avoided the major stumbling blocks.
