Job evaluation can still be effective – IES

Job evaluation can and should have multi-dimensional uses and can be an effective tool to support organisational change, according to a report from the Institute for Employment Studies (IES). Effective job evaluation is ‘straightforward, tailored and transparent’, furthering employee development and organisational success, the report suggests.

The authors – Duncan Brown, Head of HR Consultancy, Institute for Employment Studies, and Steve Munday, Senior Manager Reward, KPMG – conclude:

‘Effective job evaluation today is straightforward, tailored and transparent, and reinforces and rewards the organisation design and individual skills and competencies that will further employee development and organisational success in the future.’
