BROADBANDING

IDS examines broadbanding and job families at BBC Worldwide

More and more employers are introducing broadbanded pay structures. Earlier this year, BBC Worldwide replaced its "narrow" salary ranges, covering 1,200 staff in junior management, technical and support grades, with four broad bands and nine job families, according to a case study by Incomes Data Services.

The three-page case study examines the following:

  • background to the changes
  • new job evaluation arrangements
  • revised pay structure
  • transition period.
