The number of HR vacancies jumped by 9% in the second quarter of 2017 compared with the same quarter in 2016, according to analysis from Robert Walters UK. The new requirement on employers with over 250 workers to publish data on their gender pay gap is driving demand for HR professionals, as is a general push to increase head count.
Nick Allwood, HR Recruitment Manager at Robert Walters, said:
‘Developing systems to ensure compliance with the upcoming legislation is a growing priority for businesses. In many cases, this will require a mixture of permanent and short-term contract staff. Developing and implementing systems for measuring and reporting relative rates of pay is driving demand for specialists to fill temporary positions, while the ongoing need to track rates of pay will require employers to take on permanent staff to fill these roles.’
