Sports betting and gaming group, GVC, has introduced a new employee engagement platform for its 2,500 global staff following a series of corporate acquisitions. Using AvinityAlive, GVC has generated employee engagement of 70%. The platform uses social technology and behavioural science to ‘re-imagine the traditional reward and recognition concept’.
A number of challenges lie at the heart of the programme, each linked to GVC’s company values so employees can pick and choose challenges according to their interests and motivation. Employees are also able to recognise colleagues for the impressive and helpful things they do at work, all set within a digital community. Points are earned when a challenge is completed, or peer recognition received, and are redeemable for rewards in an online catalogue, or for time-off in the case of recognition.
Judith Schmuck, head of employee engagement at GVC, said:
‘Within three months, we dramatically increased engagement, with the platform creating a buzz around the business and employees enjoying the freedom it give them. Eighty five percent of employees didn’t know there was an engagement factor in the engagement and reward programme previously.’
