Granada wins award for "best incentive strategy"

Media and leisure group Granada has triumphed in the category of best incentive strategy for its highly impressive recognition programme in this year's Human Resources magazine/KPMG HR excellence awards.

Granada dominated the 2000 short-list with nominations in five of the 11 categories — eventually producing three winners. Full details of all the winners are published in a special supplement to the July edition of Human Resources magazine.

Granada's "Stars" awards

The recognition programme was launched across the entire organisation — covering100,000 employees in 52 countries — and supported by an extensive communications and ongoing reinforcement programme.

Entitled "Stars" awards, the programme is designed to:

  • thank high achievers

  • demonstrate the company's commitment to outstanding levels of service

  • create an annual event to which all employees can aspire

  • reinforce the customer's position at the top of the management agenda.

A statement from the Granada board, quoted in the Human Resources supplement, said: "We see employee recognition as a very critical part of our strategy for quality customer service. This is a vital part of our business strategy and Stars has already had a significant impact on the culture within Granada."
