Gender wage gap and poverty – IFS

The Institute for Fiscal Studies has published the first output of a programme of work seeking to understand the gender wage gap and its relationship to poverty. The research looks at definitions of the gender pay gap, how it differs according to education level and how it has evolved over time and across generations. It also presents evidence on how the gap is affected by the presence of dependent children in a household and the employment outcomes associated with children.
