Gender pay disclosure challenge – Willis Towers Watson

Only a third of employers have all the data they need to run reports on gender pay gap reporting, which is due to become a requirement in 2017, according to a survey by Willis Towers Watson. Just under two-thirds of the 68 employers in the survey have already taken action to prepare for the new reporting legislation but less than a third have run an equal pay audit.

Tom Hellier, GB Practice Lead, Reward at the firm, said:

‘The survey shows the first challenge for most employers will be accessing the data they need to run the required reports. For most companies, base pay figures are easy to access and analyse, but to comply with the legislation the same will need to be true of total pay data, the various components of which are often scattered across multiple systems.’
