EU close to deal on capping banker bonuses
European Union officials have reached a tentative deal with lawmakers to cap banker bonuses at double annual salaries.
Negotiators from the European Parliament and Cyprus, which holds the rotating presidency of the EU, brokered the draft agreement during a meeting on 13 December 2012, Sharon Bowles, chair of the assembly’s economic and monetary affairs committee, told Bloomberg News.
