Over 90% of employees would be willing to reconsider a resignation decision if their employer made them the right offer, according to a survey of 1,002 UK employees. However, only a quarter say that they have been made any kind of offer when they have told their employer of their decision to leave. Top offers to make an employee reconsider are: 25% pay rise (45% would change their minds), promotion (23%), 10% pay rise (19%), flexible working (17%), and a bonus (16.6%).
Declan Byrne, UK managing director of research sponsors, One4allRewards, said:
‘What this research shows is that a notice being handed in does not have to mean the end. If a member of staff is highly valued by a business, this data shows there are options which can be called upon – if it is deemed viable – in order to retain them.’
