Cycle Solutions, one of the UK’s leading providers of the cycle to work initiative, has been awarded a £60,000 contract with KP Snacks. The Slough-based snack food giant, behind brands such as McCoys, Hula Hoops, Skips and KP Nuts, has seen 6% of its workforce sign up to the scheme. Staff who take part in the initiative pay for bikes and accessories through a salary sacrifice, and are exempt from paying tax or national insurance on the purchases.
Managing Director of Cycle Solutions, Steve Edgell, said:
‘Employers can see for themselves the benefits of the scheme. Cycling to work has been proven to reduce temporary cover costs and absenteeism as it boosts general wellbeing of the workforce.’
Rukaiya Chinoy, HR business partner at KP Snacks, said:
‘We have a geographically and culturally diverse workforce and a key objective when planning our scheme was to ensure all employees had access to the same choice and service.’
