Comparative study of European pay trends 2003

Basic pay increases averaged 3.1% across the European Union in 2003, down from 3.5% in the previous year. In ten acceding and candidate countries the average rise was much higher, rising from 8.1% in 2002 to 9.4% in 2003. These are some of the main findings to emerge from an international survey of pay trends by the European Industrial Relations Observatory.
