Benefits of pay transparency under the spotlight
Pay transparency, while not an easy option, will enable a more strategic approach to be taken to closing the gender pay gap. That’s the view of Sheila Wild, Head of Earnings Inequalities at the Equality and Human Rights Commission, writing in the latest edition of IDS Pay Report. In her article, Wild examines the issue of pay transparency ahead of the introduction of the Equality Act in October. As well as examining what the Act’s provisions may mean in practice, her piece highlights the range of benefits a proactive approach to transparency can bring employers.
