Backlash against forced ranking
Of all the ideas propagated by former General Electric boss Jack Welch, sacking the worst 10% of employees every year is the most dangerous, writes Michael Skapinker in the Financial Times newspaper.
Skapinker suspects that most companies would make a mess of identifying the worst performers. What's more, such an approach is likely to undermine trust and teamwork and invite litigation.
