Asda to introduce grandparent leave

Asda, the retail group, is planning to offer its employees a week’ s leave after the birth of a grandchild, according to a recent report in the Financial Times.

Marie Gill, Asda’ s head of colleague relations, told the FT that the move is designed to cut labour turnover and absence levels, which are already low by industry standards,
